Universities 

Manitoba's universities and colleges offer the education and training you need to participate in today's competitive global job market and to succeed in your professional and personal life. If you graduate with a degree from a Manitoba university or a one-year certificate or two-year diploma from a Manitoba college you become eligible to work in Canada for one year after graduation in a field related to your course of study. In addition, the Manitoba International Student Off-Campus Work permit Project allows qualified international students to work up to 20 hours per week while they study after successful completion of two terms of study at participating public institutions.

Brandon University
Located in Brandon, Manitoba's second-largest city, Brandon University (BU) provides a comprehensive undergraduate education. Programs in arts, business administration, computer science, education, nursing and sciences are top quality and the music program is outstanding. in addition, BU offers 25 pre-professional programs and a new bachelor's degree in applied disaster and emergency studies. graduate programs are available in education, music and rural development. Canadian Mennonite University

Welcoming students from diverse backgrounds, Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) provides strong academics and opportunities to grow in faith within a caring community. Université de Saint-Boniface
Established in 1818, the Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) is the only French-language university in the province of Manitoba. Located in the heart of Winnipeg's green and quiet francophone neighbourhood, the campus is a stone's throw away from many services, including cafés, restaurants and a hospital, and is brimming with activities for its student population.  USB offers a wide array of undergraduate and graduate university degree programs as well as technical and professional programs that can be completed in one or two years and are geared toward employability and meeting job market needs.  Our affiliation with the University of Manitoba gives our students access to courses at both establishments.  USB is an open and inclusive environment that welcomes students from more than 25 countries around the world.

Providence College and Theological Seminary
Providence College and Theological Seminary offers you a wide variety of degree options (bachelor, master and doctoral), all set in a lively Christian campus atmosphere. Located 40 kilometres south of Winnipeg, providence as small classes, caring and experience professors, championship level athletics, award-winning music and drama, exciting student activities, worship and service opportunities and a network of talented alumni throughout the world. international Students make up 16% of the student population and come from over 20 different countries. University of Winnipeg
With its campus located in the heart of Winnipeg, the University of Winnipeg (U of W) is a medium-sized university with more than 400 courses. In 2002-2003, U of W was ranked as the top undergraduate university in western Canada and among the top four in all of Canada. It offers degrees in arts, sciences, education and pre-professional programs. With U of W's focus on undergraduate studies you may be able to work as a teaching assistant in your third or fourth year. Distinguished alumni include Canada's former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

University of Manitoba
Founded in 1877, the University of Manitoba (U of M) is western Canada's oldest university, blending historical and state-of-the-art facilities. Two campuses, one on the south side of Winnipeg and the other at the Health Sciences Centre downtown, provide courses for over 26,000 students. In all, 90 degree programs are offered, 60 at the undergraduate level, in academic programs as diverse as agricultural and food sciences, music, engineering and medicine. At 92 and counting, the University of Manitoba has produced more Rhodes Scholars than any other university in Western Canada, and is the home of the last two recipients of the International Student of the Year award, as chosen by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).

Assiniboine Community College
Located in Brandon since 1961, Assiniboine Community College (ACC) serves over 10,000full and part-time students every year. We offer a wide range of one-year certificates and two-year diploma programs in agriculture and rural enterprise, trades, business, tourism, computer and information technologies and health and human services. ACC's programs are designed around the needs of business and industry. our instructors are highly skilled, dedicated professionals with industry experience and connections. Because the average class has fewer than 25 students, ACC's instructors are able to provide individual attention to help you succeed.

Red River College
Red River College (RRC) is the largest college in Manitoba sponsored and accredited by the Government of Manitoba. RRC offers nationally and internationally recognized preparatory, certificate, diploma, joint university degree and advanced diploma programs. The College serves and annual student population of over 32,000 full and part-time enrolments with over 1,100 permanent support and instructional staff. Red River offers a comprehensive array of over 110 full time 'hands-on' programs in the fields of applied arts, applied sciences, business, community services, developmental education, health and technology. Brandon University
Brandon University's multi-level English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is designed to prepare you to study at English-speaking educational institutions. EAP is also designed for those who want to improve their use of English for professional or personal purposes. Red River College
The Language Training Centre at Red River College has developed and delivered English language programs for more than 25 years. Students at the Centre come from all over the world, speak many different languages and bring with them varied life experiences and cultures. We offer a number of full-time English programs from basic to advanced levels. At the end of our programs, students choose to go on to post-secondary programs, explore future career options or return to their countries with broadened horizons and newfound knowledge of English.

University of Manitoba
The English Language Centre offers full-time academic English courses to prepare students for university study. All instructors have completed graduate work in teaching English as a Second Language and have experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes. There are five levels of study  from intermediate to advanced. Students who complete level five successfully meet the English requirements of the university of Manitoba. Students in levels one to four write the CanTEST upon completion of the course. The results of this test can be used for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs of the U of M. All classes are enhanced by cultural events, field trips and visits to university classes.

In the Intensive English Program you will improve your English while enjoying a rich cultural exchange. You can complete seven levels of English (each requiring two months of study) for personal or professional reasons, or to pursue university studies. All instructors are certified by the Province of Manitoba and have at least three years of ESL teaching experience. You can live in a university residence or with a Canadian family. After completing the advanced levels, you can register in the Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) program.

University of Winnipeg
The University of Winnipeg offers a 14-week, full-time English language program three times a year as well as a month-long July intensive program. The 14-week program has two streams: the General English Stream and the Academic English Stream. In both streams, classes are held from Monday to Friday, with a total of 25 hours of study and cultural activities each week. Successful completion of Academic 5, meets the English language requirement for entrance to the University of Winnipeg. The July Intensive Program is designed for students looking for intensive language training. Classes focus on developing oral communication skills as well as grammar and vocabulary.

French Language School


Université de Saint-Boniface
For over 40 years, Université de Saint-Boniface has offered French language programs designed for people whose first language is not French. The program emphasizes communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Instruction is provided at all levels, from beginner to advanced and sessions, are held four times a year.

Elementary and Secondary Schools

Manitoba schools teach students from 5 to 18 years of age. high school prepare students aged 14 to 18 for post-secondary education and training or employment after graduation. Public schools are funded and offer courses developed by the Manitoba Government. Independent or private schools receive public and private funds. They teach courses approved by the government. Both systems are well funded and provide high quality education. In high school, you can choose from a wide range of academic programs offered in English, Francais or French immersion (combination of French and English). It is also possible to choose a technology training focus. High school programs are flexible enough to fit your ambitions and requirements. By combing compulsory and elective courses, you can create a balanced and challenging program.

Interlake School Division
Located within easy driving distance of Winnipeg, the Interlake School Division (ISD) emphasizes academic and extra-curricular excellence. The number of ISD students who pursue post-secondary education is double the provincial average. Warren Collegiate (one of ISD's three high schools) is home to one of Canada's best hockey academies. ISD is also a leader in the use of on-line learning with each high school containing a virtual classroom.

Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School 
Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School (LSRCSS) is the only high school in the school division and it is the home of the International Student Program, along with the staff. LSRCSS offers over 200 academic, vocational, performing arts, information technology, language and athletic courses. The school's modern facilities include state-of-the-art computer labs, a 300-seat theatre, an indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness area and an outdoor track and field stadium. LSRCSS is located a few kilometres north of Winnipeg in the historic city of Selkirk, a popular location for provincial, national and international sporting events.

Louis Riel School Division
The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) is located in the south-eastern part of Winnipeg and welcomes international students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 to its community. LRSD offers excellent and affordable educational experiences for students, with complete immersion in English or French speaking environments.  In addition to full year and semester programs, LRSD also offers continuous entry short-term studies and an Accredited Summer Enrichment Program. LRSD offers a broad range of academic courses and provides industry-led technical vocational training for future employment and post-secondary education. LRSD will arrange medical insurance, greet students upon arrival, assist with course selection, registration, orientation, monitor attendance, and much more. LRSD facilitates a quality Homestay Program which allows families to provide excellent opportunities for students to immerse themselves in Canadian culture.

Pembina Trails School Division
Pembina Trails School Division (PTSD) is the longest running (since 1995) and one of the largest international education programs for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Manitoba. It is also a leader in award-winning academic and extra-curricular programs. The PTSD is located in the university district of Winnipeg. Students from PTSD high schools rank among the highest in university and college attendance rates in Winnipeg. PTSD students traditionally earn the highest number of University of Manitoba scholarships each year, and they place in the top 2 percent of most national competitions.

Prairie Spirit School Division

Prairie Spirit School Division is located in a beautiful and picturesque area of south central Manitoba, within 1 hour of 2 major cities. We are a rural area where farms are relatively large and diverse. We have experience in cultural exchanges from Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Australia, Mexico and South Korea, as well as others. Our Division has 16 public schools, including 2 French Immersion programs. Student numbers total 2300 with 160 teachers. We have 9 high schools with small class sizes and a pupil teacher ratio of 16:1. School sports include volleyball, basketball, hockey, curling, soccer, cross country and downhill skiing, badminton and track and field. Most schools offer music, choral, or visual arts programs. Career Technology Studies programs are available in some schools where students are able to pursue workplace experience in a variety of areas. We are actively involved in Distance Education and leaders in technology.

St. John's-Ravenscourt School (SJR), an independent co-educational day and boarding school in Canada, admits students into Kindergarten to Grade 12.
